Gillian is a visual artist, currently specialising in print making and fibre art. As Company Director of Make Play Connect, she has created a flexible, welcoming and safe community space for arts, education and well-being activities in Norwich.
Gillian coordinates and delivers arts workshops for community and professional groups as well as at MPC.
Gillian has 26 years of teaching experience across disciplines and age groups, in a wide range of settings. She currently teaches for the National Teaching and Advisory Service, tutoring vulnerable children with SEN, or in Care. She is a Production Artist for film and has considerable experience in production for theatre and large Live Action Role Play events.
Gillian has freelanced as a workshop leader and interpreter for the Norfolk Museum Service, co-founded the Norfolk Scrubs Volunteers and sings with the Voice Project Choir
Gillian qualified in Ceramic Design in 1989 (HND - Croydon), gained a BA in Fine Art Sculpture in 1990 (Portsmouth), completed a Diploma as an Artist in Residence (Anglia Ruskin) 1995 and became a Qualified Teacher in 2002 at Cambridge University (Homerton College). More recently, she gained an MA in Textile Design in 2014 (NUA).
Gillian has an enhanced DBS Certificate for working with Children and adults.
She also has Level 2 Safeguarding Training.
